I purchased a Samsung HDTV LCD when the 360 launched for GAMING. And with DVD's the resolution looks nothing short of incredible. The 360 upscales the resolution because it runs the DVD through component cables. I really have no desire to buy HD-DVD or blu-ray because of this. And every 360/HDTV owner knows this. The same will go with PS3 owners who just play DVDs.
I'm not saying both formats will fail. I'm just saying that which ever format has the cheapest stand alone p...

It's just not worth it son. Blu-ray's stand alones are gonna be super expensive for 5 years atleast. That's why I think they could easily loose if MS sells their stand alones at 200-300.
